SEPTIC FLESH : New Album listening Session

There’s no better thing on Thursday afternoon than a visit to SepticFlesh’s studios to get a first taste of their much anticipated new release which is due in April 2011. In Devasoundz to welcome us were Chris Antoniou, Fotis Bernardo and Seth so we could also ask questions on the album.

\r\nThe first song we listened to was the one that is already available for everyone to listen to  “The Vampire From Nazareth”. The feeling I got throughout the album brought me to the conclusions:
\r\n
\r\n1) Peter Tägtgren’s production is miraculously unique.
\r\n2) Orchestral parts by Chris Antoniou are probably the best work he has done so far.
\r\n3) Wherever there was a touch of Sotiris V you could trace it by the first note.

\r\nThe new SepticFlesh album sounds darker than ever before, in some parts the orchestral parts along with the female vocals were truly frightening and transcended me to another dimension. Music wise the new album in total is more obscene than “Communion”, darker with some elements of the Revolution D.N.A. era of the band. My personal opinion is that the new SepticFlesh album includes the new “trademark” song of the band which has the distinctive touch of Sotiris V and which we are not allowed by the band’s record label yet to reveal.

\r\nUnfortunately it is not until April that we will be able to listen to it again. The album will be issued in four different versions. In fact for the very first time there will be limited editions of the cd which will include the orchestral parts separately, a making of DVD along with a video clip taken from the new album.
