Tesla - Twisted Wires and The Acoustic Sessions

\r\nI am usually a bit leery when it comes to acoustic and compilation albums seeing them as a convenient way for the bands to release something either because they lack inspiration or just because they are contract bound to release a new album. There are many examples of such strategy but fortunately Tesla is not one of them!
\r\n“Twisted Wires And The Acoustic Sessions” isn’t an “Unnecessary” album, on the contrary it has a lot of interesting stuff for every listener. Besides, Tesla was the very first of the bands that dared to release an acoustic album back in the 90’s ("Five Man Acoustical Jam") long before it became some kind of trend for all rock bands, and to their credit this one hasn’t a single track from that release.
\r\nIn “Twisted Wires..” we get 12 songs 6 of which are songs recorded in 2005 when the founding member Tommy Skeotch was still in the band, something that makes them even more valuable for the collectors, plus 2 brand new stunning songs “2nd Street” and “Better Off Without You” proving that Tesla are full of inspiration something already proven by their latest studio release, the awesome “Forever More”. On this one we also have a cover song called “I Love You” from The Climax Blues Band which I first thought was their composition due to their personal touch and I would also like to add that the acoustic version of “Changes” is totally awesome!!
\r\nAll and all I think that the release of “Twisted Wires..” is anything but pointless. Surely is more attractive to the fans of Tesla but this doesn’t reduce its value at all. When is that new studio album coming out anyway?
