Non Opus Dei - Eternal Circle
\r\n
\r\n Non Opus Dei from Poland have released their\r\nsixth album entitled “Eternal Circle” and it seems that the decade that just\r\nended has been a rather busy one for them. \r\nAs far as “in your face” black metal goes, they truly have the know-how.\r\n
\r\n
\r\n Completely aggressive approach to the genre\r\nwith hyper sonic drumming, uncompromising vocals and guitars that make the\r\ndifference with their psychotic harmonies and bulldozing riffs. All this, within a sonic hell that is made comprehensible\r\nthanks to the quality sound production. At\r\ntimes they reminded me of Marduk and Mayhem but with plenty of death metal\r\nreferences. I won’t distinguish any\r\nparticular songs because they all contain interesting parts. The record flows without any major diversions\r\nor changes in the feeling, which is the only negative aspect of this\r\nrelease. It’s a good thing that it lasts\r\nthirty two minutes because it could easily end up being dull. The Polish quartet keeps it brief and\r\npowerful, saving the day.\r\n
\r\n
\r\n One thing I found remarkable, is that Non\r\nOpus Dei –along with many other notable Polish acts- don’t try at all to sound\r\nlike the most successful Polish band, Behemoth . Instead, they go their own way keeping the\r\nmisanthropic attitude, the simplistic rhythm section and the various touches\r\nthat enhance their music. “Eternal Circle”\r\nis not the record of the year but it surely is a notable release that will\r\nsatisfy the fans of extreme metal and will raise more attention towards the Polish\r\nscene. \r\n
