\r\nAlways on time to their appointment with their fans the Swedish act Astral Doors strike back with their 6th studio album “Jerusalem”. Astral Doors, to whom it might concern, belongs to the case of the bands that despite being more than qualified to make a name for themselves, they actually never made it to the top, being a victim of circumstance. That doesn’t seem to affect the members of the band in a negative way, in fact they become even more persistent to their goal, having as a result a series of good albums! Musically “Jerusalem” sounds a bit better than last year’s “Requiem Of Time” with powerful riffing and stunning melodies filling each song! \r\nNils Patrik Johansson’s vocals always reminded me that of R.J. Dio so that alone is a huge compliment (should I explain why?) for his singing abilities. The compositions are mostly based on religious as well as historical concept (so as the title implies) while they pay their tribute to that music with the song “Child Of Rock ‘n’ Roll” (does the title ring any bells?) \r\nThe songs are powerful with “Child Of Rock ‘n’ Roll”, “Suicide Rime”, ” Operation Freedom” and “Jerusalem” standing out. All and all “Jerusalem” might not be the album that will blow you sky-high but it is a great recommendation on melodic Heavy Metal. Check it out! \r\n \r\nDimitris Karantounias\r\n
