Dark Order - Cold War of the Condor

Dark Order - Cold War of the Condor

Australia is a difficult country for metal as few bands made it to the light of acceptance in this kind.As you already understood Dark Order are from Australia and they offer a strange/weird opinion in the world of thrash metal.

\r\nThese guys exist for many many years(since 1992), and "Cold War of the Condor" is their 4th release so far. This album is great and i didn’t expect that. It was a good surprise indeed. I heard some old school thrash with a taste from many bands like Slayer, Sepultura, made in their own way. Lyricaly the album deals with the 1973 Chilean coup d’etat, a political structure established to rule Chile. If you see the first track-intro is entitled "September 11th 1973". That was the exact date when this political structure took place. Production of the album is just great. Clear production and tons of aggressiveness tells clearly that these musicians owns what they do. Devastating sound on bass i enjoyed it much in the mix, this is the sound that bass must have i think. Razor guitars with awesome  sound and aggressive drumming in classic forms serves the attack. In the vocal section i heard some multiaction voice, thrashy, with some death metal fills is just completing the war punch that Dark Order wants to deal. The most wonderful thing i realised about their music though was that besides they play awesome thrash, they made it in a way that serves the lyrical concept in a unique way that i haven’t heard from thrash bands. In many parts, i felt like an atmosphere took place in their music following the concept. A concept folded with the music in a very artistique way for 1:15’ and it never got boring. That was just great.

\r\nDark Order offers an awesome thrash album in 2010-2011 that stands proud among all the other works outhere yelling that Australia has a very strong opinion about this music. I think everyone must check it out.
