Edge Of Thorns - Masquerading Of The Wicked

\r\nWhen we see a band with the name Edge Of Thorns is almost certain what we are about to listen. So, as you well guess, Edge Of Thorns play Heavy Metal with many Power Metal additions. After three demos and one full length album named Ravenland (2004), the time has come for their second complete release which is called Masquerading Of The Wicked. In this album the band appears promissing, showing that they know how to write music, however they don’t have that special or different element we are looking for in a new release. Everything has been played over and over again in the past by many other similar bands. In the album there are some melodies reminding of Judas Priest and in some other parts of Primal Fear. I have to admit i didn’t really like their vocals as they are pretty colourless and in my opinion they need a little improvement. Edge Of Thorns can write remarkable tunes, but what they do (at least in this album) is not to offer something that will inflame or excite us in the way these kind of bands should do. Masquerading Of The Wicked is just one of the noumerous albums we listen to every day. My hope is the band will present something more personal and interesting in the future. \r\n
