Fall of Empyrean - A Life Spent Dying

The fourth album by the US based outfit , Fall Of Empyrean  is already spinning in my cd player tray and the atmosphere is getting heavier and heavier in here. Fall Of Empyrean, as I have already said is a US based outfit that serves the Doom / Death metal sound since 2000, during this period of time they ‘ve managed to gain the respect and the recognition amongst the Doom metal circle worldwide and I strongly believe that after the listening of their new album (2010) “A Life Spent Dying” they ll get some more.
\r\nFirst of all we all must admit that we usually put many bands under the “Doom / Death metal” Label, and many of them do not deserve this “title”, but these Americans are just the definition of Doom / Death, since their music is a great mixture of melody, melancholy, aggressiveness, ultra thick and heavy sound and many dreamy passages. Especially the acoustic parts make an awesome dreamy atmosphere while the heavier parts drag the listener down, to the very depths of doom metal sound. There is also a great use of keyboards, very balanced, and their sound helps the whole outcome to be more dark and heavy. I recommend this album to all of our Doom / Death friends out there
