GRAND MAGUS - Iron Will

It took three years for the continuing of “Wolf’s Return” by the Swedish Grand Magus. Grand Magus is a heavy metal outfit with heavy mind blowing riffing and mid tempo compositions. With their latest effort “Iron Will” the band owns also some “more epic” feeling, which in specific parts reminds the feeling of Doomsword.
\r\nAnother fact that made the band more well known is the fact that Janne  Christoffersson, (Grand Magus’ frontman ) is also the frontman of Spiritual Beggars, both of these bands sounds similar. So with this effort, the fourth one for the Swedish, the band provides us with mid tempo, Heavy Metal music, with wise riffing and some strokes of 70’s doom rock and in specific parts an epic feeling. The band also had a line up change and the original drummer has been replaced by Sebastian, but this fact did not affect their musical direction at all.
\r\nNine compositions in the well known Grand Magus style, without serious surprises, well composed and well produced. The music of Grand Magus is made for Heavy Metal fans and followers of Doom rock genre. Having in mind that the album has been released under the sign of Lee Dorian and Rise Above records, it would not have been any different.
