GRAVE DIGGER - Highland Farewell (Official)

Grave Digger - The Clans Will Rise Again

\r\n14 years after the unexpected success of  “Tunes Of War” , an album that was the stepping stone for them, Grave Digger return once more with an awesome album inspired by the history and the battles of the proud Scottish people against the English invaders. So before any of you starts accusing them for repeating themselves or walking the beaten path to ensure success try to think of two main reasons why accusations like these are completely irrelevant. First of all, Grave Digger have no need to do such a “desperate move” cause their latest release “Ballads Of A Hangman” was excellent and second, “The Clans Will Rise Again” musically is at least equal to “Tunes Of War”. Big talk, maybe but after several times listening to this one, that’s the feeling it left me with.
\r\nMusic wise “The Clans Will Rise Again” is something that all Grave Digger fans expected, powerful, inspired, German Metal of the highest degree!
\r\nThe Intro “Days Of Revenge” with the bagpipes playing prepares you for the battle that’s about to begin in the following songs. “Paid In Blood”  and the English invade on foreign ground while “Hammer Of The Scots” carries you away in the heat of the battlefield with your comrades fighting by your side and the enemies everywhere around. Chris Boltendahl’s hoarse voice tells the tale while blood runs on the fields soaking the grass. The heat of the battle reaches its peak with “Rebels”, easily one of the best Grave Digger songs ever, while in “Whom The Gods Love” they praise the unbound human spirit and its rise through the fight for freedom and independence.
\r\nThe battle finally ends in a bloody feast and those who survived, count their losses and escorted by the triumphant tune of “The Piper McLeod” they are finally “Coming Home”.
\r\nEpilogue to that epic is the track “When Rain Turns To Blood” which loses the album leaving a sense o bitterness along with hope for the future.
