Kingdragon - Fire In The Sky

Kingdragon - Fire In The Sky

\r\nKingdragon started in 2006 as an idea of their vocalist, George Aspiotis, whose cooperation with some legendary Greek bands, such as Spitfire, Nightfall, and Raw Silk, makes him a respectful and experienced artist of the local scene. Their lineup includes Byron Tsourapis (Bass since 2006), Anastasis Fragopoulos (guitars since 2006) and John Karachalios (drums since 2007 and also an ex-Spitfire member). Through these years, their c.v. includes live performances with some great acts, as a support group, with Gotthart and Firehouse. "Fire In The Sky" is their first official release and contains 4 tracks, which could be described as hard rock ones. In my opinion, the roots of the band’s music would be from U.S. hard rock and bands like Danger Danger. What you will distinct, by the first listening of the album, is definitely their mastermind’s singing, which is in high standards and the keyboards which gives the proper mood to this release. The 4 compositions are above average for sure and gives us a taste of what to expect in the future from them. Highlight would be, definitely the last track "Lonely Lady" with its catchy and poser-ish chorus and the great keyboard arrangements, which brings in mind Raw Silk. My objection is the mediocre sound, which makes the whole release dis satisfactory, comparing to the compositions included. Especially the drum’s sound is very narrow, while the guitars are more heavy than the should and generally the balance of the instruments could have been better. To sum things up, "Fire In The Sky" is a very good effort and must be welcomed by the fans of this style, but I am sure that with a more balanced and "hard rock-ish" production, it would become an extremely pleasant surprise.
