Misanthrope - IrremeDIABLE

\r\nMisanthrope is an old band, come out from depths of French cult scene. In 2008 therefore on behalf of also French Holy Records, they release their new album which brings the title IrremeDIABLE. As always, so and now Misanthrope present us a unique music which has as a base Death and Black Metal but beyond them, has also certain other elements which makes it unique. I believe that the term Avant-garde reflects him absolutely. To be honest, I didn’t like the album for two particular reasons. First of all, because everything is in French and if somebody does not know the language does not understand anything and secondly because vocals are tedious and tragic. Clearer ones is as we are in front of somebody who is crying (and in particular with ugly way), while brutal are heard more as growls despite as vocals. In the musical part, there are moments that are extremely influenced from Death Metal scene, others that are influenced from Black Metal situations and also they exist certain that emanate from the space of Gothic/Atmospheric sound and personally reminded me of bands such as Lacrimosa, while there are not few times that Sopor Aeternus comes to my mind. What we should report, is that all tracks are melodic (or even if they are not at least they try to be) and they hide certain paranoid melodies that can draw our attention but cannot make us devoting to Misanthrope to the point of considering them as one of our new loved bands. At least this is the way that I see them. Finally, we must say that the album is a concept one and it is about French poet Charles Baudelaire. If you like Avant-garde listenings, give a chance to Misanthrope. Perhaps you discover something that passed unnoticed to me. \r\n
