Undefined - Of Xenoglossy And Saturn

Undefined from Spain have released back in the 2005 their first ep, and in 2007 their first album “Of Xenoglossy And Saturn”, that just reached us.
\r\nThe band states that their music is Death Metal with progressive elements and some Black, Doom and Post Metal influences. Listening to the album I found some progressive elements, or better some, neo – progressive elements in the vein of Opeth although in specific parts Undefined sound more technical. Personally I can’t consider a band prog Death metal if does not have influences from bands like Death, Cynic, Atheist, Pestilence of Nocturnus and Undefined seems that do not have been influenced by these bands, or at least they are more influenced by bands like Opeth.
\r\nAnother irritated to my ears thing is the acoustic passages and the clean vocals that sounds from Opeth to System Of The Down (???)
\r\nAll the other elements of Undefined sound very good, with a non-stop double bass drumming and very clever and in specific parts fast riffing. Some blast beat passages also exist and the brutal vocals , that sounds closer to black metal vocals, are very good. They deserve to be noticed.
