We Came as Romans - Understanding What We've Grown To Be
\r\n What is there to say about this? Just when I thought the metalcore era was over. And yes, stupid band names that are phrase-long should be banned! Have mercy! We Came As Romans, apart from the annoying name play generic music 110%. I keep asking myself, is there audience that still digs this much into this genre?

\r\n I find it funny you know, having this great guy screaming in a perfectly fit for the occasion voice only to be followed by a tear-stained melo chorus. A chorus that seems to be the purpose in the first place. But this sounds so damn generic, it does not even touch my senses. The rest of the band doesn’t do much either. Yes, the play tight, the guitars are powerful enough but the whole thing has been done a million times before. It’s as if the band’s target groups consists of teenagers and other pimple barers. Nothing more. To sum it up: flawless production, perfect sound, tight playing, good brutal throat, boring songs, annoying perception of songwriting. Yeah, this says it all..

\r\n I know the wheel has been invented for some time now but this does not mean we should lay back and repeat the same ol’ process. WCAR will still have to do that little extra something in order to stand out of the mass. The mountain is high and if you want to reach a part of it you have to work on it. And those of you who think I’m just bitching about the whole genre, playing it "oldschool" and such bull, should know I think bands like Misery Signals, Arbalest and Unearth play this game a lot better...\r\n
