Grieving Age - In Aloof Lantern, Thy Bequeathed a Wailer Quietus…

I have to admit that one of the little things that I really enjoy being a “reviewer” of metalzone is that I have the chance to lay my hands on some new releases and especially from new bands all around the world.
\r\nWhen I first got this promo CD by the band Grieving Age, despite the really magnificent artwork made by Aaron Stainthrope  I ve been impressed by a little sticker on the CD  quoted  that the mixing and mastering has been made by the metal guru Dan Swano.
\r\nAnother fact that really impressed me is that the group hails from Saudi Arabia, a fact that caused me the urge to put the CD right into the cd player tray and push the play button.
\r\nLet’s take a look with what we have to deal in this specific occasion. The cd features two tracks (one 20 minutes long while the other is 16 minutes long) that really took me so many years in the past when the Doom Death genre was the leading genre in metal scene with most important outfits those that came from the Yorkshire scene of England, bands like Paradise Lost, Anathema, My dying Bride.
\r\nSo this Saudi Arabian outfit cherish the master’s works and through their music puts us in never ending abyss with those Doom / Death down tempo vibes, the heavy guitar riffing and the chaotic brutal vocals. Their compositions are long with some tempo variations that cause the continuous change of the listener’s feelings, and pretty well – structured
\r\nAt last this is want I needed on this cold winter morning to cheer me up, this release is more than recommended to all of the previous stated bands.
