Iron Maiden @ Terra Vibe

\r\nWatching an Iron Maiden concert is a life experience no matter how many times you have seen them in the past..
\r\nI had a long time to feel like that in a concert. The time was passing and instead of getting tired I was getting more and more excited. IRON MAIDEN even though they played around 2 hours, during all the show, they were full of energy and will to satisfy their 25000 friends. Iron Maiden have still 8 concerts in order to finish the Somewhere back in time tour 2008, which started in February and finishes on 19 of August in Moscow, with a short break that took place on April. This was a significant factor that could justify some kind of tiredness within the band but against the odds they seemed to be no tired at all.\r\n

\r\nThis live was a real show, with awesome sets and stage effects, which were giving and going, according to the date where each song played was coming from. Fires, fireworks, and Eddie appearing twice on stage first when the sarcophagus opened and then when he walked on the stage with his cyborg uniform-while the band was playing. Bruce Dickinson was really great, running up and down, keeping his voice in a very good level during all the show, and of course Harris, Murray, Smith, McBrain were all, full of energy. I can say the same about Gers but allow me to consider him as the only ..dissonance in the Maiden show. I am not sure if Gers even plays anything, I think his guitar has no sound and that he just does bullshit on stage which most of the times are far away from the feeling of the show and completely irrelevant to the songs.
\r\nThe 17 songs were performed greatly by the band, the sound was very good and somehow stronger than what we had used to in Terra Vibe( I think this was due to the air, in order people who were in the back to be able to listen) the lighting was superb and generally all the concept of the show was simply perfect.\r\n

\r\nOne of the most distinctive moments of the show was when the band played the Rime Of The Ancient Mariner in a really great way, the Trooper and of course Fear Of The Dark and Hallowed Be Thy Name which was the song that finished the show.. The crowd was from the beginning till the end focused in the band and seemed quite happy during all the concert. How could they not be happy since all the songs were from Maiden’s golden years and for sure that’s the reason that no one left the concert unsatisfied.
\r\nAnother impressive fact was that in the show people from three generations seemed to have the same fun watching their favorite band, no matter the age difference among them!
\r\nA bad moment was when someone from the crowd was marking Bruce in the eyes with a laser light ( I really cannot understand the point of this bullshit) a fact that made him stop and ask that person not to do that, saying quite angrily that ‘’ there is no problem uploading our videos on youtube, you can download our mp3’s from the net but I ask the guy that marks me to stop doing that, and if he doesn’t let someone next to him stop him for me’’
\r\nExcept this specific fact everything else was great and everyone left Malakasa totally satisfied, with a just little discomfort until they manage to reach the national road and take their way back home, due to the large number of people and the cars that have been around the place.\r\n

\r\nLet’s deal now with –in my opinion-the most important thing, something that most of the people who have been there might have not realized. Except the song Fear of the Dark all the other songs were form albums of the 80’s, the sets reminded the Powerslave and Somewhere in time tours and in few words it was like we had entered a time machine and we were watching IRON MAIDEN in two different eras(84/85 and 86/87) at the same time!\r\n

\r\n

\r\nThat was really touching especially for me and for many more fans of the band I guess, who might shared the same feelings with me, watching Maiden as if they had came back from the 80’s but with Gers in their line-up (unfortunately)
\r\nI do not know if the band thinks the same. I do not know if they can feel the same way when they are on stage, but for sure at least for the old fans that was so special and so intense. Everyone yesterday had the chance to actually feel the 80’s and just for this I fee so happy that I grabbed this priceless opportunity!
\r\nA huge band that in every single appearance they make, they prove again and again the reason they are considered one of the biggest metal groups on stage \r\n

\r\nEven if someone had watched them live in the past he sure missed something great if he did not come, since every time you see Maiden, it’s a unique experience
\r\nI hope we will have the chance to see them live once more, shortly.
