The prestigious Wacken Open Air Festival will take place in Wacken, Germany from August 4th to August 6th. Organizers issued the following update via social media earlier today:
"Dear Metalheads,
This year we will introduce a big innovation at the W:O:A - Cashless Payment - at the whole festival.
Royal Hunt will release their new studio album, Dystopia - Part II, on October 26 via King Records (Japan/SE Asia) and on October 28 via NorthPoint Productions (EU/N & S America).
Dystopia - Part II will be released in following formats: regular CD, various Deluxe editions/bundles and a gatefold, heavy vinyl double LP (availability date pending).

German hard rock quartet, Sinner, finally unleash their new studio album, Brotherhood, via Atomic Fire Records.
Brotherhood was produced by Mat Sinner, co-produced by guitarist Tom Naumann, and recorded by Basi Roeder at Backyard Studios as well as Mitch Kunz at Apollo 13 Audio. Jacob Hansen mixed and mastered it at Hansen Studios, Denmark. Artwork was completed by 123RF GmbH / W. Cliff Knese (Terrafolio).
Finnish four piece, Apocalyptica, announce the release of their very own Cello-Metal reinterpretation of Ludwig Van Beethoven’s legendary 5th Symphony.
Apocalyptica will be touring the US extensively in 2022, as well as playing multiple summer festivals, among other dates, before hitting Europe with the aptly named Epic Apocalypse Tour alongside Epica and Wheel.
Aussie rockers, Airbourne, have laid out plans to begin work on their new album. Set for release in 2023, the new set will follow on from 2019’s Boneshaker. The band made the revelation about the album in a brand new chat with eonmusic.
Speaking about the road to the new release, drummer Ryan O’Keeffe said: “We’re getting ready to do an end of the year tour and then another album. Soon we’ll be making another record."
Alice Cooper has announced the return of Kane Roberts as guitarist. Guitarist Nita Strauss announced her departure from the Alice Cooper’s band after 8 years playing with the legendary rocker.
Roberts played with Cooper from 1985-1988 and performed on the albums Constrictor (1986) and Raise Your Fist And Yell (1987).
