\r\nGothic Metal, Symphonic Metal, Female fronted Metal.. it’ all relative, afterall “labels” help nothing but having a general idea about α band. \r\nMy Black Light is a fresh new band coming from Italy and their debut album is entitled “Human Maze”. It’s a pretty interesting piece of work and I think that it shall appeal to many fans of the genre. A strong female voice, nice development on the songs, avant garde touches and imposing theatrical keys, emotional variation, mainly when the gentle female vocals leave some temporary space for the brutal ones and melancholic mood are the most characteristic elements of “Human Maze”. \r\nThere are definitely many attributes and the album is good; yet there’s a long road till having a very personal ID as the mixed up influences from Lacuna Coil, Evanescence and Within Temptation are pretty much obvious and a band of this genre has to be extraordinary to stand out. \r\n
