Blackwinds - Flesh Inferno

\r\nBlackwinds is the side project of Setherial’s drummer Lord Mysteriies along with Setherial’s guitarist Lord Kraath who is handling the vocals in this new album "Flesh inferno" and with guest musician Zathanel at the bass section. I suppose you are you already intrigued by the name of Setherial. Well, of course we are dealing here with frosty and infernal black metal with grim melodies and the distinctive Swedish touch but unlike Setherial, Blackwind’s music doesn’t focus on the fast and blasting speed and rather maintain mostly in a mid tempo pace but with plenty of racing blast beats alternating with slower parts, a restless double bass, icy and razor-sharp riffs, creepy leads and unobtrusive keyboard layers into the background that provide a more gloomy and obscure atmosphere to their Nordic frostbitten auditory bliss. Vocals are hellish and raspy, lashing out over the diabolic ferocity of the music. The production is ultra slick. Not quite the over slickness of say Dimmu Borgir, but either way the sound is too modern with a plastic and artificial quality. So, if you are not fans of the raw, primitive sound this album is definitely for you. \r\n
