The Eternal Suffering - ApognΩsis

The Eternal Suffering - ApognΩsis

\r\nThe Eternal Suffering is not one from the newest bands in the Greek scene. They were created in 2001 and after one year they released their first Demo, Born Of Chaos. It followed their debut album which is named In Darkness We Shall Reign and for the history we say that the mixing of the album was done in the very known Morrisound Studios in Florida from the known and recognisable Jim Morris. After this, and after the band had received dithyrambic criticisms about the album, it was followed a period of pause but now, The Eternal Suffering return with their new work which is named ApognΩsis and is an EP with 4 tracks, which easily gains the respect of everyone, who deals with melodic/European Black Metal but still more, can gain the friends of Dissection. From the first note, it is obvious that the band honours to a great extent the Swedes, something that appears from the compositions, atmosphere, vocals and in general everything. Personally I have heard many bands that try to touch this unique style of Dissection, and more specific what exists in Storm Of The Light’ s Bane, but the result was not also satisfactory for them. The Eternal Suffering not only have entered great in this situation, but they have also put their own personal element so that the band can go further and it does not remain stuck in this influences. The tracks that we hear here are long in duration, are melodic, atmospheric, dark, in certain points symphonic, but above all they are inspired and structured, so as to absorb the listener and they are not drowned into the monotony and indifference. The are a lot of melodies, which is the strong characteristic of the band together with the beautiful lead points but from there and beyond, what I liked most, is that they manage to combine together in an amazing way, brutality, rhythm guitars and storming drumming, with the acoustic passages which sound as one melancholic atmospheric break, so that they dynamically continue after some seconds. In this point we must mention that the tracks are technical enough, but are not complicated, so as to be heard tired in the listening. Even in this the band has managed to maintain the balances and the result is simply astonishing. The production of EP is very appreciable and in order to be sincere I could not find something which reminds me that The Eternal Suffering is one Greek band. Everything has be done in a professional way and gravity and they reveal that if the band works much more, it will accomplish great things, not only in the Greek scene, but in general. It deserves you to enter in the act of listening them and I am sure that you won’t lose. Unfortunately really appreciable bands in Greece remain in the dark. Let’s hope that with The Eternal Suffering will not happen the same…. \r\n
