Knight Area - Realm of Shadows

Knight Area - Realm of Shadows

\r\nOn Wikipedia, in referance to “Neo Progressive Rock”, it says that “By some fans of progressive rock, neo-prog is criticised for lacking originality compared to other Progressive Rock bands”. And compared to Progressive music, in general, I would like to add.
\r\nI couldn’t agree more after listening to KNIGHT AREA’s new album; it’s nice, however it doesn’t prove wrong the statement above. If we “cut” all the heavy guitars and the Metal elements from DREAM THEATER, the result will be very close to KNIGHT AREA’s music, especially on the “bridges” and the keyboard melodies. They also remind a lot of MARILLION and, of course, PINK FLOYD; how could they avoid being compared to the Prog Rock Mentors, anyway.. their music is melodic and atmospheric at the same time, but basically it’s Rock oriented in the vein of the previously mentioned bands.
\r\n“Realm of Shadows”, which is the title-track, is the best song in the album in my opinion. Plus, even though it’s at the end of it, it’s a good introduction for the band to those who are not familiar with it yet. \r\n
