Korrigan - Korrigan

I like these guys."Korrigan" is a Greek band from Patra and this is a four-track demo recorded at  Lubreeka Studioz.
\r\nKorrigan’s sound is a nice mixture of ‘’Katatonia’’, old ‘’Septic Flesh’’, ‘’Dark Tranquillity’’, ‘’Theatre Of Tragedy’’, ‘’The Gathering’’ and ‘’Anathema’’. Although they‘re another atmospheric death metal band, they have two very strong weapons in their armory. Two great voices for this genre. Vaggeli’s and Zoe’s work on the demo’s vocals is outstanding! Two very mature voices and a well balanced mixture between gothic, brutal and female vocals made me hear this demo over and over again.
\r\nKorrigan scored at the musicianship too. The 3 songs (Seeking a healing hand is an intro) are well structured with nice orchestrations. The songs are very melodic with catchy refrains that make you wanna sing. I loved ‘’tonight’’. Especially the refrain from Zoe is great and I’m still singing …I wanna surrender in your bleeding hug…
\r\nThe only flaw I found here is the production. The sound is weak and I believe that they know it. With a crystal clear production these songs would be more than satisfying. I am always strict about the production. When you are selling a product (in our case a cd) you must give your buyers the best result you can. But this is a demo, it comes for free (you can download it from their myspace page) and it will be judged as a demo. Korrigan is an unassigned band and I think that if their goal is to find a record label, this demo will help. I wish them good luck and I really want to hear them with a proper release.
