Pathosray - Sunless Skies

\r\nI really don’t understand this thing with the record companies. They use the term “progressive” for bands that have nothing to do with it and they label as “Heavy Metal” other bands that are far away from the classical sound. I mean, you can’t just generalize when referring to elements such as the following. Melodic and based on Dream Theater-like forms, Fates Warning and Symphony X breaks, Evergrey atmosphere, and Eldritch associations due to the similar style on one hand and the common hometown on the other, are the basic spots of the second full length album from the Italians via Frontiers where they were recently signed and I hope that it will push them away from the Underground scene pretty soon. Such bands don’t appear every day so they worth special attention. Even though it’s pretty soon concerning their discography so far, I think that they won’t disappoint me.
\r\nThe recordings of “Sunless Skies” took place at Artesonika Studios in Italy from Ivan Moni Bidin and Fabio D’Amore, and the mixing and the mastering of the album took place at Fascination Street Studios in Sweden from Johan Ornborg and Jens Bogren (Opeth, Symphony X, Katatonia etc). The result is just superb. On the 22nd of April the album will be released in Japan, on the 25th of May in Europe and on the 9th of June in the U.S. Believe me, that’s such a long time! \r\n
