Zero Illusions - Enter Eternity

Zero Illusions - Enter Eternity

\r\nI’ll have to admit that it’s a strange fact that Zero Illusion’s first cd reached our headquarters about 8 months after it’s official release. I thought that such a delay could justify a lack of professionalism and quality in this band’s work and luckily I was proven 100% wrong. After the first hearing of their album I made a short reasearch of what has been written for them internationally and in Sweden. The band has been characterised as "the new Swedish hope". I can tell you, whoever told those words, was absolutely right. \r\n

\r\nThere are some bands that speak to your heart and some other who communicate with your mind and Z.I. belong to the second category. Especially when a band has a mastermind as Janne Luthje on guitars who blows our mind with his great work behind every song of the album. This is a fact proven in dynamites such as "Am I Too Old", "Face Of The Fortune", "Left Alone" and "Like Yourself" (this one, you’ll have to watch it live). But is this a perfect album? The answer is no of course. Is it one of the best in 2009? Again, no. Apart from their very good moments, Z.I. tend to "overplay" at times and they can bore a listener who is not used to such complex way of playing and someone who is used to this, can easily find out that Z.I. also tend to be repeated at times. \r\n

\r\n

\r\nOne fact is sure though; Z.I. fully justify and deserve the title that has been given to them in their own homeland "the new Swedish hope". Their, debut has brought us the lust to hear more from them in the future and I believe that they have the potential to be a great band if they keep up their work. \r\n
