Monuments

\r\nAll of us know that the fathers of Heavy Music Style are Black Sabbath. We all know as well, that Candlemass, cutting off some specific elements, are their best kids, the descendants who continued and expanded the vested, which existed until then, creating a new shade of sound, al least merchantly. Before them, however, there were some other groups, which played doom, prior to the leak and the spreading of this term.

\r\nOne of the bands that their last offerings to the art, their "swan chants", is best of their career. It is used in these cases that doors open for the street of success, the recognition, the money and the glory. This is something that exists constantly, but not for HEAVY LOAD. After the release of the specific album, with which in my opinion reached the peak of their creativity (and after two years later they released one single 45’’ with 2 songs), internal problems and disagreements between them led the band to split-up.

\r\nIn the middle of the pro-past decade, the music events, were moving with breakneck speeds. Sound was becoming faster, heavier, while influences from other music genres (most of them unknown for hard), had already changed and driven to other roads and musical forms.
\r\nEspecially in America or better for the colossal bands to succeed in the American market, they were forced to change their sound, moving to more commercial forms. Examples of JUDAS PRIEST, SAXON, IRON MAIDEN sustain this truth, while other bands were already thought to be old fashioned.

\r\nOne more group from Great Britain, a classic example of a group which was deeply influenced fron the 70’s. This might be the reason, why they didn’t made a carrer in the long run, although their label was the multinational company ATLANTIC. But what should Atlantic first promote?\r\n

\r\nInfluenced from DEEP PURPLE,LED ZEPPELIN, some MOTORHEAD and more of THIN LIZZY. All of them to the right potion, so much as we can not only avoid talking about copying, but clearly for unique TYGERS sound. \r\n

\r\nFrom MANSFIELD of England, we have this strange four member band. Founded and I moved in the a very early days and long before the beginning of the new HARD ROCK genre, the NWOBHM, they made their own effort for coming in the surface. Influenced, sound evident, from BLACK SABBATH (first albums), no so much with regard to the direction and the sound, as long as the suffocating, frugal underground sentiment that they exuded.

\r\nI still remember how much I was impressed, when I heard Steve Harris in an interview, answer with no hesitation: "Which group do you think will star in the 90’s"? and he answered without even think of it : "Queensryche". So simple. Even this huge musician was impressed so much, like every one of us, from the "phenomenon" from Seattle. \r\n

\r\nI bet now that a soul will smile, because he was sure when I began to writing monuments, that this would be the first, knowing that is my favorite one. Despite the fact that I don’t want to be predicted in my actions, I thought that I must take him by surprise, but finally I couldn’t resist to this temptation…And believe me the specific temptation is …huge!!! And it’s name is Awaken The Guardian. \r\n
