Fen - The Malediction Fields

\r\nThis is the first album by the U.K. based band, FEN and I have to admit that this one got me from the first note! The reason must be the unique way these guys sound, a sound between black metal and post rock breaks , something close to the music of  In The Woods or Agalloch.
\r\n“The Malediction Fields” is an album that is possessed by a dark atmosphere in it’s whole length, with a great mix of clean and brutal vocals with a continuously melodic line made by keyboards in the background. In specific parts FEN reminds me of the most “progreesive” works of The Gathering without the electronic elements. The Clean vocals of the band sound so melodic while the brutal sound so aggressive and cold.
\r\nIf you are missing albums like “Heart Of Ages” by In The Woods this album for sure will feed your addiction.
