My Dying Bride - For Lies I Sire

My Dying Bride - For Lies I Sire

There’s no doubt that the British outfit My Dying Bride along with Paradise Lost, back in the early 90’s started a whole scene, that back these days was called “Death / Doom”, and after that some people named it “atmospheric” or “goth metal” or whatever the fuck wanted to name it. The time has come for the 10th studio album by these guys, under the title “For Lies I Sire” and with this specific album they do support what for years they have been stated for years “we are a doom metal band” The sound of the violin is at last back, after all these years, the trademark of old MDB that we have been missing for a long time. The riffing engine started up again and the whole album is full of riffs, inspired by the epic doom metal scene and the desperate sound of Katie Stone’s violin. It seems that the presence of Hamish Hamilton Glencross (ex – Solstice) forced MDB to use some more doom metal elements in their sound without loosing their identity, on the contrary they have found it again and there is a lil surprise for the old MDB friends, we can hear again some guitar “echoes”.
\r\nWell I don’t know if the newer fans will enjoy the album, but the older ones will do for sure, imagine something like the “The Angel and the Dark River” a little bit more doomed….
