Roswell Six - Terra Incognita: Beyond The Horizon

Roswell Six - Terra Incognita: Beyond The Horizon

I strongly believe that Mr Erik Norlander is a well known artist amongst the fans of rock sound plus the friends of progressive rock / metal sound since depart from his solo works his back catalogue features many appearances on bands, or projects such as Joshua, Expedition Delta, Aina, Lana Lane etc. It’s about a great composer and even greater keyboard player that joined forces with the science fiction author Kevin J. Anderson to present us a unique effort under the name Roswell Six and the title “Terra Incognita: Beyond the Horizon”.
\r\nRoswell Six ‘s music is a great example of progressive rock of today, with the main role have been given of  course to the different sounds of the keyboards, that sounds like, church organ, 70’s mellotron, moog , and a variety of other great sounds. In general I would say that the whole musical outcome reminds me of Styx, Alan Parsons Projects but since Norlander is the composer and producer of this album, his unique mark has been left upon the album. In specific parts the outcome reminds also some Rush of the 80’s, but for sure during 2009 is a unique feeling to lay back and enjoy this kind of albums and especially if the vocals were made by Lana Lane, James Labrie, Michael Sadler and John Payne, were everyone sing their character’s part, like a progressive rock musical or something. But in musicals we do care about the lyrics, on this release all the lyrics are by K.J. Anderson ‘s novel “The Edge Of The World”, an epic science fiction novel that has to do with , weird sea creatures, sailing ships, crusades and things that help you to “sail away” with the best possible “soundtrack” from your own arm chair…
\r\nWell, If you are fans of this sound the best thing to do, is to buy the Roswell Six album, as for me, the more I listen to the album, the more I consider my self addicted to it…
