SONNY RED - Extent Of Soul

SONNY RED - Extent Of Soul

A mix of new metal, progressive and classic metal (in some parts) is being delivered by the French Sonny Red. “Extent of soul” is their debut album and it consists of  11 tracks in an average production and much “Fuzz” I would say. By the word “fuzz” I mean that there is too much noise for nothing. Their music is a bit tiring since they are playing too many things and finally nothing gets you really interested. The melodic vocal parts sound pretty nice (especially on the choruses) but unfortunately there are no melodies that would be stuck in your head….I think is very important for a band to leave its mark with its sound while you are listening to their songs, forcing you to keep repeating over and over again. In that case SONNY RED are trying to do so but seem to fail…They are good musicians indeed but this alone is not enough. Good ideas and brain-stucking riffs are what this album seems to lack.
\r\nI just hope their next work will prove me wrong.
\r\nFor those of you who like New and Progressive metal, well check them out you might find something interesting, the rest…I don’t think you should bother listening to it. No matter how many times I listened to it, I can’t remember any song.
