Nocturna Perambulant in Tenebris (what a name ah?) is an Italian band and they follow the
\r\nold paths of death/black metal. Never heard of them before but this is their first album after
\r\n"Nocturna Perambulant in Tenebris" demo released back in 2005.
\r\nThese guys are stuck in the past. You can listen to this even from the first riff of the album.
\r\nIn general we have a pretty good work but not for 2010. Their music reminded me of old
\r\nswedish death metal in parts and in other parts like raw old school death metal. Vocalist
\r\nThe new album of Appearance Of Nothing, “All Gods Are Gone”, is going to be released on January.
\r\nThe Swedish band has a very positive feedback already from the debut album, “Wasted Time”, which was released about a couple of years ago. Appearance of Nothing combine Progressive Metal, Progressive Rock, Symphonic Power, even Metalcore and the result is really impressive. They gather the best elements from bands that seem to be their greatest influences such as Dream Theater, Vanden Plas, Symphony X and Savatage, making their own personal style.
With their second album (they have already released “Glow Of Dawn” in 2007) the Danish Seven Thorns struggle to claim their place in the rise of Power Metal but unfortunately they fail. “Return To The Past” isn’t a bad album in any case, it’s just another typical Power Metal release. That makes things even worse. By the term “Typical” I don’t mean that I was expecting something more complicated or progressive, is just the fact that despite the flawless performance the songs sound completely flat and uninteresting.
\r\nIt’s been less than a year after the release of their last studio album and CREMATORY are already back in action with ’’Black Pearls’’. It’s a best of double cd release, which covers their entire career from the beginning until the album Infinity.
\r\nHistory speaks for itself; NEUROSIS have been a great influence and reference point for many bands, mostly for those formed in the 90’s.
\r\nWhile a new album is not released yet, NEUROSIS offer a strong dosage of good music to their fans by releasing “Live At Roadburn 2007”. The album was recorded during Roadburn festival, which takes place annually at Timburg, Holland; that year NEUROSIS were headlining the billing.
It is pretty difficult when i have to speak about musicians like Cornelius Jakhelln (Sturmgeist,
\r\nManes) and Lars Nedland (Carpathian Forest, Borknagar), when they bring albums like
\r\n"Norron Livskunst ". This is not my kind of music but let’s take a look to this.

Well, Since Black Widow send us a couple of months ago some releases of their catalogue, and since the Italian outfit Abysmal Grief is one of ma favorite bands out there, I hope that you wont mind if I review a 2009 release.
Every single release from the US based outfit Evoken is without any doubt a claustrophobic, black hearted and “rotten” experience. So their new release as a split CD with Death / Doomsters Beneath the Frozen Soil from Sweden.
\r\nThe first four tracks are by Evoken and as usual they deliver 4 masterpieces of pure funeral doom, chaotic, heavy and with such a unique atmosphere
Black Land is an Italian outfit and “Extreme Heavy Psych” is their second full length release. I strongly believe that if someone take a quik look at the cover artwork, album title and record label will easily come to the conclusion of what these guys are playing in their albums.
