\r\nDark Sky’s and Nightpride’s ex frontman, Bruno Kraler, along with very talented musicians, is back with the album “War Maniacs”. John Billings ( Lancia /Donna Summer Band) on bass, Bobby Altvater (Affair) on guitars and DominikHuelshorst (Bonfire) on drums, and if you though that Melodic Hard Rock is dead or something, well you will have to reconsider. This album is fresh, inspired and has very good ideas!
\r\nFinally the Seventh Angel sounded his horn not from the endless heavens but from the very depths of hell spitting out haunted melodies entwined in bizarre crawling riffs, followed by demonic choirs. That’s the message that the British “Seventh Angel” bring us with their third album making sure that as long as their doom/death/black last, there will be no rest for all the damned souls out there.
\r\nStarrats play heavy rock n’ roll with metal and punk influences" as the band states and they are completely right. And for those who aren’t aware of the band, Yes! You heard right! Returning with their third full length album after "Rebelution" of 2006, again, combining elements of punk, sleaze and metal Starrats try to make a difference following the well known US recipe of catchy choruses and riffs all gathered in an album filled with energy.
Seriously now, what’s wrong with the Italian scene? They seem to have abandoned their well-known power metal genre and began to play classic heavy metal, feeling a bit nostalgic about this music’s past. Ok there are some very decent albums like that of “Frozen Tears” that I reviewed a few days ago, but enough’s enough.
\r\nIt’s like a devastating earthquake or more like a bomber flying over leveling the place with a hail of bullets. I can’t think of something more appropriate to describe what I’ve just listened to. Well some of you might question, what exactly is this kind of music described as a “hail of bullets”?
\r\nMalicious Silence was a big surprise to me; their promo cd is one of the best ones that we have received lately! The band comes from Lamia (Greece) and their cd, entitled "Promo 2009", contains three songs. What they sound like? Well, it’s raw, massive and thunderous death metal!

\r\nThe band TOJA was new to me till now, but I have to say that I got disappointed after listening to “Train Of Life”. This is the third album from the Germans, via Avenue of Allies. The info sheet refers to Kamelot and Masterplan among others, as this cd should appeal to their fans. This reference, though, has nothing to do with the way this are in this album.
