Some of you (the older ones mostly) might remember the Dutch heavy metalers Picture that somewhere in the middle of the 80’s made a name for themselves by offering us amazing albums like “Diamond Dealer” and “Eternal Dark” (whose title track was also covered by Hammerfall) unfortunately in the late 80’s the members of the band parted ways to reunite 20 years later and to be more specific in 2008 and to release this beauty.
\r\nThe beginning was good, but what followed is even better. This is the second album for KARMIC LINK, a band that I really like for its special music style since its first steps and I am really glad that this release comes to prove me right.
\r\nIn fact, I am much more impressed compared to the first album, as they are on a better level composing-sounding wise and so is the production and the mixing, plus their progressive tentions are much more obvious this time and, in general, the band has made an essential progress.
\r\nI suppose that there’s no need for any special introduction about Ozzy,"The Prince Of Darkness", "The Madman" etc.
\r\nBRUTAL COMEBACK\r\n
\r\n
\r\nThree years since their latest release, -Severe Torture- returned with another brutal album ready to tear your ears apart !!\r\n
\r\n
\r\nThe new album has the title - Slaughtered- and it’s a great Brutal Death album with great riffs, wonderful leads, nice bass, perfect Death Metal drumming and the brutal voice of Dennis in great condition. The production is very good and so is the cover of the album.\r\n
I never figured out why Immolation didn’t manage to make a name for themselves in the Death Metal scene. Maybe they are one of these bands that, when it comes to the above mentioned question the easy answer is “it just didn’t happened”. I don’t really thing that with “Majesty and Decay” they will succeed in what they’ve been struggling for 20 years now. That would be too optimistic and I’m not an optimistic person but this album, their first release under Nuclear Blast, sounds quite impressive. What we’ll listen to here? What else?
\r\nThe band exists for almost a decade and it has recently released its first album; I doubt how promising can that be, especially when music wise it’s nothing new or really inspired.
\r\nINTO THE PROGRESSIVE MIND OF NEVERDREAM\r\n
\r\n
\r\n-NeverDream- is a band from Italy that plays a mix of Thrash/Progressive/Metal since 2000. They have already released two full length albums and one Demo and they are now ready with their third official work.\r\n
\r\n
\r\nThe album is called - Said - and it’s a great Progressive Metal album with many great riffs and leads, nice bass and drumming, good keyboard themes and a nice atmospheric voice. The production is very good and the whole album has great atmosphere.\r\n
\r\nA NEW RELEASE FROM POLAND \r\n
\r\n
\r\n-Quo Vadis- is a band from Poland that plays a mix of Thrash/Death/Progressive/Metal since 1986. The band has released seven full length albums and it seems that nothing can stop them. Three years after their latest release they have returned with another album. \r\n
\r\nIn case anyone thinks that there are only 2-3 good bands coming from Greece, they should reconsider.
\r\nBefore I start reviewing this one I’d like to make some things clear. Indica has nothing to do with Heavy metal. So what’s this review about? Some of you might ask, well I’m asking myself the same question and honestly I can’t find an answer. Well Indica, as the info sheet suggests are an all-female pop-rock band that are most popular in Finland where they come from. The fact that they signed with a huge metal label like Nuclear Blast could be either by chance (which I don’t think so..) or as a result of a very successful management.
